History

Our Milestones

1985	Founded by Rev. Terrence K.K. & Mrs. Kamala Sinnadurai with 2 children in a single storey terrace house in Desa Bunga Raya, Kajang provided by “Kajang Assembly of God” free of charge in February.
1987	Moved to Jalan Reko, Kajang and while there rented three building.
1989	Moved back to Sungai Chua area and rented three bungalow houses in Taman Kajang Baru. We continued staying here and started growing by renting more houses. Today we are renting 14 buildings.
1992	Started Faith Eagle’s Nest – A Home for destitute Senior Citizens. Bought a piece of land 4.2 acres in Jalan Broga, Semenyih, Selangor.
1995	Celebrated our 10th Anniversary at Crown Princess Hotel, K.L Dinner Fully sponsored by T.A. Securities. Rev. Sinnadurai receives recognition from the Star’s Clove Section for being a “GOOD SAMARITAN TO THE UNFORTUNATE.” 9 of our children and two staff are sponsored to visit China on a Welfare and Cultural Tour organized by “Xim Phou Moon”.
1997	12 children and 2 staff are sponsored by “Xim Phou Moon” to visit Thailand. Our new registered name is “DESA AMAL JIREH”.
1998	Our girl, Jennifer Chai graduates with a Diploma in Nursing from the Assunta College of Nursing. The Matsushita Electric Industrial Workers Union selected Desa Amal Jireh as the country’s "MOST OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER ORGAZATION" for their 8th MEU International Volunteer Prize Selection with a cash award of US$ 20,000.00. The Chairman and his wife were invited to Japan to receive the Award.
2002	Launched our Thrift Shop, “Bazaar Amal Jireh” or “Jireh Charity Bazaar”. Started our Home Schooling Center for children who could not go to normal school for various reasons. Today we have 20 full-time children studying in our Home School based on the American Home Schooling concept.
2003	Ground Breaking Ceremony of Desa Amal Jireh by Datuk Dr. Zainal Abidin Ahmad, Timbalan Menteri Besar, Selangor. Mrs. Kamala Sinnadurai was chosen by Abbot Laboratories (M) Sdn. Bhd. To receive the “ DERMAL ANGEL AWARD 2003” for voluntary service and received an amount of RM 10,000/= for the home. Our boy, Jeevan Kumaran was selected to represent Malaysia for the “Saitama International Junior Soccer U-12 Championship” in Japan. Eagle's Nest Computer and Community Centre was started. Appointed by DAGS/MIMOS to bridge the digital divide among the senior citizens.
2004	Construction of Desa Amal Jireh was started in May 2004.
2006	Official KEY handing over ceremony by the contactors was held on 2nd December 2006.
2007	Our Girl, Sasikala wins the "Sportsgirl of the year 2007" award from Sekolah Menengah Saujana Impian. Unveiling of Multipurpose Hall Plaque by Datin Alicia Tiah, Executive Chairman of TA Enterprise Berhad and naming of Hall as the TA- Jireh Multipurpose Hall by Rev. Terrence K.K. Sinnadurai, Chairman of Desa Amal Jireh on 8th March 2007. We shifted to Jireh Village, Jalan Broga, Semenyih in June 2007.
2008	“Dedication Service” of Desa Amal Jireh – 29th March 2008. Official Opening Ceremony” of Desa Amal Jireh – 26th July 2008.
